I never follow fads but want funky stuff to express my style of not taking myself too seriously. My fashion quest sparked a mission to create quirky accessories with a slice of art that accentuate your glint. This came to life as Glint Gear, a union of my passion for painting & sewing. It’s a labor of love that starts by playing with acrylic on canvas. After they’re dry, I design a bag with fabrics that compliment their sass then chop up the beautiful paintings. It’s brutal when turning them right side out after sewing because of stiffness & gloss–makes one cringe. The paintings can’t be ironed, so wrinkles are badges of honor earned during transformation. Glint Gear “breaks in” like a favorite pair of jeans. It might crack & stretch in places as a normal effect of bending non-fabric paint that’s meant to lie still & behave on a flat canvas. I cherish this as the lovable character & bravery of them daring to live as a wearable accessory. Here’s my favorite part: we’re being naughty & breaking the don’t-touch-or-you’ll-ruin-it rule. Hee. A painting can’t be duplicated. If you see a bag you love, snag it!
